SPRING SUMMER 2010
Dramatic, bold and lustrous, our SS10 collection showcases four colour stories this season…
NAZCA is influenced by the remarkable ceremonial textiles found in early South American cultures. Often densely covered with brilliant feathers finished in stunning geometric patterns. The majority of feathers derive from the tropical birds indigenous to the Amazonian rainforest.
VIRTUOSO has its roots in the iconic artist Max bill's painting ‘verdichtung zu caput mortuum’ characterised by intense colour and precise proportions. The painting is part of a series of variations, each with different expressive qualities deriving from the combinations of colours.
ESPERANCE was created to reflect the work of Dutch artist Erwin Olaf who uses a unique mix of photojournalism and studio photography. In Olaf’s most evocative portraits subjects stand together, their expressions reveal a desire to touch, yet his composition evokes a powerful sense of distance. A further sense of narrative is expressed in his approach to colour which uniquely binds series of his work together.
HERRERO is a palette inspired by the work of Costa Rica based artist Federico Herrero whose paintings are distinguished by the examination of art in everyday life. Large paintings in dazzling colour, bare figures and luscious landscapes, which the viewer is only able to recognize with contemplation.
Keep it sharp, keep it lively.
